Birding 101 for Grades K-2
Take a hike in your schoolyard and explore the world of birds that are present throughout the DFW Metroplex. Students start the program in their classroom, learning about bird adaptations and ecosystems. They will head outside and learn how to use binoculars and how to identify the birds they see and hear. Students receive a Trinity River Audubon Center Bird Journal to track their observations and to continue using as they add new birds to their life lists. Total program time is 45 minutes.

We bring the pond to you! In this 45-minute program, Audubon educators bring samples of our pond water to your classroom. Students explore the water, looking at macro invertebrates and other pond life, recording data and using that to determine the health of the pond. For a truly investigative experience, book multiple programs throughout the school year to see how life changes with the seasons.
